Macerator
• Macerator reliably breaks down fibers and foreign materials in the fluid.
• Protects equipment such as pumps, valves, flow meters down the line from damage caused by foreign objects.
• Prevents blockages in pumps, valves and pipelines.
• Reduces viscosity and homogenizes the content of the fluid, preventing floating layers that may form in storage pools.
HOW DOES MACERATOR WORK?
While the fluid continuously flows through the Macerator; Foreign objects (stones, metal and wood pieces, etc.) are separated according to their size or weight and accumulated in the integrated stone holder unit. The accumulation is easily discharged manually or via the automatic discharge system by opening the cleaning cover at certain intervals. All floating and suspended materials (strings, hair, bones, wood, etc.) and even industrial fibers are directed to the sieve by the liquid flow and reliably crushed by the rotating blades. A pumpable, homogeneous suspension is obtained from viscous liquids containing solids. This makes Macerator a useful tool for homogenizing heterogeneous media, a feature that is often needed, especially in the food industry, slaughterhouses and biogas plants. Another important function of Macerator is the effective solid part separation. Stones or metal parts that cannot be cut, etc., are reliably retained and directed into a collection container. In this way, Macerator effectively protects pumps, pipelines and equipment parts against foreign body damage.
Cutting Screen:
The hole geometry of the cutting screen is as important as the cutting speed and is decisive for the shredding size. For the Macerator shredder, particle permeability from 4 mm to 50 mm is possible, depending on the selected screen type. Stainless steel screen options are also available for aggressive media.
ACC Automatic Control of Cutting Performance:
It automatically adjusts the blades of the Macerator and keeps the contact pressure between the screen and the blade constant. In addition, the contact pressure can be adjusted during operation; it provides automatic operation to ensure that the pressure is as high as required by the solid material in the fluid and as low as possible to maximize the service life of the spare parts (such as blades, screens, etc.).
ACC Plus: It further simplifies the maintenance and control costs of the cutting unit. It monitors the blade status online and displays it on an external display. It is not necessary to stop and open the Macerator for control. In addition, the information can be processed and displayed in a (central) control or remote monitoring system.
Automatic Reverse Operation function: Detects blockages caused by large foreign objects or dense fibers, and clears them with an instant change of direction. The periodic change of direction function sharpens the blades regularly, ensures that a sharp set of blades is always used, provides the best cutting performance and reduces energy consumption.
In many systems, in addition to shredding, it is also important to separate stones and metal fragments safely for trouble-free operation. For this purpose, a suitable heavy material separator structure is important. Macerator offers a wide range of “Stone Catcher” options.
DRS – Automatic Waste Discharge System (DRS): ensures that heavy material that could not be shredded and separated during operation is regularly discharged and removed from the system. Compared to traditional solutions, DRS reduces personnel operating costs by up to 80%.
The body of the Macerator shredder is made of steel and completely hot dip galvanized. Stainless steel body options are available, especially for chemically corrosive (aggressive) fluid applications.
