Screens
Wastewater removed by sewage systems carries a large amount of solid waste with it. These wastes are generally garbage, plastic bags, packaging, sand-silt and pieces of stone of various sizes. In addition, depending on the type of industrial facilities where the wastewater is produced, many different types of solid waste can be found in the wastewater.
These solid waste parts seriously damage the pump elements of the treatment plant, the pipe and other mechanical parts in the facility. Screen Systems should be installed at the entrance of the wastewater treatment plant in order to prevent this damage and to operate the treatment plant without any problems and to alleviate the pollution load of the wastewater.
The wwtp screen system (grit systems) to be used at the beginning of the facility will not only positively affect the treatment efficiency of the facility, but also prevent the wear of the equipment working in the facility and contribute significantly to the reduction of energy consumption.
Points to be considered in Screen Design:
Wastewater max. flow rate
Width of approach channel
The water height that the flow will create
permissible load losses
The water load that will occur in front of the covers
Amount and type of waste to be handled
Distance between grids
Process to be applied after grating
Advantages of Mechanical Screens
Automation systems can be applied easily.
It can work with timer or level adjustment.
It does not require manpower except for routine maintenance.
It can work easily at high flow rates.
It can be used in open or closed approach channels.
ENKE GROUP supplies mechanically cleaned grates made of stainless steel AISI 304 or AISI 316 material in the desired dimensions and dimensions, depending on the characteristics of the wastewater, in wastewater treatment plants.
