Common practice for treatment plant design require and effective grit separation in order to reduce the seriously wearing effect caused by grid on the process pumps an other mechanical equipment, to minimize maintanance costs. Grit and other inorganics can be separated by longitudinal or circular grid removal system. Grease can also be floated and seperated from the stream by aeration, whilst the organics are retained in suspencion for subsequent treatment.
